M-Industry: Digital signage solutions for a modern customer approach

Migros Industry is a central component of the Migros Group and is one of the largest private label producers in the world. With five high-performance segments in Switzerland and production sites and trading platforms abroad, it produces more than 20,000 food and non-food products. In addition to production for the parent company Migros, Migros Industry also manufactures private labels for international companies.

Tasting experiences at the point of sale

Migros offers its customers the opportunity to taste a variety of its own products. In over 100 selected stores, visitors can sample one of around 10,000 products every week. These tasting stations are permanently installed and create a direct link between the product and the customer.

Screen presentations for more information and emotion

In addition to the tastings, digital screens will also provide a special experience in future. These will not only present promotions and advertising, but also provide exciting insights into how the products are made. Visitors can learn all about the origin, production and values behind the products via appealing moving images. This combination of taste experience and emotional appeal is intended to be convincing, strengthen the emotional bond, make the story behind each product tangible and thus increase sales.

Digital shop window communication at Mobiliar

In 2017, Mobiliar, one of the largest and most popular insurance companies in Switzerland, decided to modernize the shop window communication in its 160 agencies. Instead of fabric posters, modern screens are now used to convey dynamic content.

Adaptation to individual architectural conditions

A total of 97 locations were equipped with digital screens and/or analog modules in sizes 42, 55 and 65 inches. In future, customers will be encouraged to visit the agency through appealing digital communication, while up-to-date information on insurance services and employee skills will be displayed at each individual location.

The architectural diversity of the agencies was a particular challenge. In order to do justice to this, we visited each agency in advance, analyzed the space available and the customer flow. Based on this, we developed flexible modules that can be used in a targeted manner depending on the agency situation. This enabled quick and efficient installation on site.

Targeted digital communication

The trilingual communication in German, French and Italian ensures that the target group is fully addressed. The modules were rolled out quickly from February to July 2018, accompanied by comprehensive training for all general agencies so that local events can also be communicated easily via the new systems.

Implementation

  • Equipping 97 locations with digital screens and/or analog modules
  • Inspection and visualization of each location
  • Trilingual communication
  • Training for all general agencies
